I feel so bad for you and all of us supporters. You would have been such superior representative for the people. Thanks for all the sacrifices you made to run.

I am SO very sorry you lost this race. Good grief, we needed a HUGE change for our district. McHenry needs to be taken out of his position. He’s NOT for the good of the people, or even our animals. He responded to a letter that I wrote a few years back asking him to NOT sponsor horse slaughter in this country. His office wrote back stating horse slaughter would create jobs and that he supported slaughter. REALLY? I save horses from slaughter. I am a native of N.C. and really, truly wanted a good person in D.C. for us here in the 10th. Please run again, I will be sure to promote you!!

Mr. Millard, I am running for State Senate here in Lincoln County and I have attended two forums now where you have spoken. I never get the chance to meet you as I am also a candidate, I typically end up giving my introduction right after yours.

Your comments were exactly right regarding Rep. McHenry feeling entitled to votes. He has attended dozens of fundraisers, not one local forum. I am a die-hard Libertarian, and always vote GOP whenever a Libertarian is not on the ballot. This is the first election I have ever broken the trend.

Just wanted you to know, you are the first democrat I have voted for in my entire life. – Nic Haag (NC State Senate Candidate, District 44)

Andy, Thank you so much for coming to the Biltmore Forest candidate get-together on 10/14.. It was wonderful for voters to meet you and to learn that there is a great alternative to McHenry. I really appreciated your making the trek, even though we have been removed from your district. We wish you all the best in the election. We’ll be cheering for you! Sincerely, Mary

I was diagnosed on February 08, 2016 with Stage IV Colon Cancer Metastasis to the Liver. I’ve been giving maybe a year to live. On October 14, 2016 Catawba County separated my employment due to my health. How will Mr. Millard help people like me?

    My name is Luis.

I am a first generation American, the son of immigrants, born and raised in this great nation. As a young child, I developed a fascination with politics, specifically elections.

Since then, campaigns and elections are my passion, so much as graduating with a degree in political science, with an emphasis on American elections. In my free time you can find me watching ads, reading candidate statements, attending rallies, and keeping tabs on polls.

More recently I have started to collect political bumper stickers. My collection started in 2010 and I have gathering memorabilia every election cycle since. I have collected from various parties and levels and have started a Twitter account to share my collection.

I am writing in hopes that you would be able to send me a 2016 Millard campaign bumper sticker to add to my collection. In return, I will mention Andy Millard on my twitter account @politicalbumper, post a picture of the bumper sticker and along with a link to your website.

    My address is as follows:

    Luis Guitart

    1623 Bellevue Ave

    Apt 603

    Seattle, WA 98122

I really appreciate your time and consideration.

I discovered Andy’s election information and everything sounded well but I could not get an accurate feel on his opinion about HB2. Does he want to repeal the law or does he support the law?
  • commented 2016-10-05 06:55:33 -0400
I am very sorry but I will not be available to make phone calls on Wednesday evenings. I am a school teacher and work is very demanding right now. I really wanted to help in some way. I will have election day off, so I hope I can help then. If school ‘lets up’ soon, I will give you a call and help out in any way. Sorry.

I want to know if you agree with the Liar Hillary who feel we veterans should be FORCED to stay in a corrupt Healthcare System that is killing veterans & making veterans suffer. I gave you 4 sites to look at on Facebook to read vets stories, see news cast & articles on how corrupt the VA is & how absolutely terrible our care is. What I want to know , AND I will post any or no response from you on some NC vets sites I am in. DO YOU CARE ABOUT THE TERRIBLE CARE,THE CORRUPT ALMOST MAFIA LIKE UNIONs, THE CORRUPT BONUS FOR SAVINGS WORK ETHIC THAT COST AT LEAST 40 MEN IN PHOENIX THEIR LIVES, THE WITHHOLDING OF TREATMENT UNLESS YOU ACCEPT WHATEVER THEY THROW AT YOU, OLD OUT DATED MEDICAL PROCEDURES & MEDICINES, being told by Choice (Healthnet thru VA) to go beg a Church for the money to buy your Doctor’s prescribed “Urgently |Needed Medications” AND LASTLY WHO DO YOU BELIEVE??? Do you think we whiners should be quiet & take what many have to pay for so it is free & we should shut up, or do you believe that you would NOT be free to run in this election if it weren’t for veterans that Washington has turned their backs on? And so you know, Vietnam is with us every day! Some, good, some bad, but most deal with them alone because the VA could care less! Here take some pills, here take some more! Why don’t we vets, who all , especially politicians , say they love & agree we should get the “BEST CARE AVAILABLE,” why can’t we have any choice in our treatment? Hell , somebody on welfare gets more choice than a veteran does.

I haven’t heard or seen 1 thing from you or Deborah Ross on veterans care. Well, I was voting for Trump & then straight Democratic vote after that, but I’m not so sure now. Maybe I will take down the Millard yard sign, get on the phone & internet & see how many other NC vets have heard anything from the Democrats. Maybe I will just vote Trump & that is it? I will NEVER lower myself to vote for that flat our &^%$&^% LIAR Hillary. And I would bet money you won’t show this publicly, but no matter, because I will. A Disgusted Disabled vet who’s DOG gets better healthcare!!!

Went to school with Andy… Delighted to learn that he is a Democrat….was in Asheville the last couple of days…tried visiting his office in Tryon. Want to speak with him and make a donation. Could you possibly get him to call me?

I am in the 11th District so cannot vote for you. Congratulations on passing Vote Smart’s ‘courage test’, I wish more candidates let us know where they stand, and I’d like to see you in Congress based on your platform. McHenry has received over $93,000 from payday lenders from 2011 to 2015. You may want to get more details at

    Good wishes for your success.

Hi, I have already signed up to work pm Andy’s campaign since our County convention and talked to Andy and the District Convention and in person on Facebook and still have heard nothing! I am the precinct leader for South Newton and have had a sign on my lawn since County Convention! I hope to hear from someone!

If Hillary is going with T. Kaine, I cannot vote for that ticket as Joe and I lost so much with deregulation under the same philosophy with a previous administration. I believe the Kaine pick will be the kiss of death for her. If that is her choice, she has lost us and possibly others down ticket. Not too big to fail investment banks are NOT what we feel is good for America.

I tried to make a donation, but your form kept telling me I needed to correct everything, which I did 4 times, and it still wouldn’t take my money! I cancelled it. I don’t know why it didn’t work!

Your thank you note for making a donation arrived today. I just want you to know in the future you could send “Thank You” notes via email and save the expense of stamps and cards, not to mention the liking and sticking of staff. As for me keep up the good work and I prefer to receive communiques online.

I am writing to encourage the campaign to build a government reform platform by banning gerrymandering through (1) adopting the Ranked Choice Voting Act proposed by FairVote and (2) modifying the legislation to require Reweighted Range Voting.

Currently, voters across the state are denied the ability to vote for candidates who represent their policy preferences because their state legislature has drawn up districts to help their party win as many seats as possible. Rather than see-saw between districts drawn by Republicans for Republicans, and districts by Democrats for Democrats, we should break free of this system once and for all.

Adopting multi-member districts would effectively end the practice of the House choosing their voters, instead of voters choosing their Representatives.

Adopting Range Voting (a.k.a. Score Voting) would not only solve the problem of spoilers, but also expand voters’ choices and ensure competitive races.

For more information on each of the proposals, including Nobel laureate Dr. Kenneth Arrow’s explanation of why score voting is the best available voting system according to his prize-winning work, you can visit the following sites:

    Thank you for your time.

I am writing you to recommend incorporating regular charity work into your campaign schedule. Performing charity across multiple communities with staffers and volunteers on a (semi-/bi-)weekly basis would not only be helpful to the communities in and of themselves, but would help intimately familiarize everyone with the needs of their neighbors and fellow citizens.

Professor Hahrie Han of the University of California has analyzed political mobilization and organization – researching groups like the Obama ’08 campaign team and pro-life activist groups – and has found that non-political social and volunteer activities help to create a sense of community and recruit less-political supporters. You can review a brief 30-minute summary of her research in Organizing for Leadership:

Her research is borne out by the experience of former Rep. Tom Perriello who won a hostile district in Northern Virginia in ‘08. During his ’08 campaign, fmr. Rep. Tom Perriello promised to tithe 10% of his volunteers’ hours to local charities and ultimately triumphed over incumbent Republican Rep. Virgil Goode.

    Thank you for your consideration.

Andy, greetings from a former neighbor and classmate at Dorman High School. I was checking the list for candidates who filed during the new filing period and saw your name. I live in the eastern part of the state, Washington to be exact. I retired two years ago, but I still do some work as a contract writer for the Washington Daily News. Good luck with the campaign.

Do you support a constitutional amendment for campaign finance reform for both Presidential and Congressional campaigns?
  • commented 2016-02-09 14:23:42 -0500
Do you endorse Bernie Sanders? Are you for campaign finance reform and against taking Super PAC money? What is your position on fracking and solar power for NC? I believe I saw you are against private prisons, which is good.

I’m wondering if Andy Millard’s filing for candidacy was certified by the NC secretary of state? I believe he was listed previously, but don’t see his name on the filing results anymore. I’m a writer for Ballotpedia, and I’m updating our records on North Carolina for the 2016 elections. Please do not send appeals for donations or any solicitations to my email address.

    Best regards,

We don’t need another Heath Shuler, by the way, we need a REAL Democrat to unseat the weasel McHenry.

“On behalf of the NRA’s five million members, I would like to thank Congressman McHenry for introducing this important legislation," said Chris Cox, Executive Director of NRA-ILA. “Beating back the latest iteration of President Obama’s gun control agenda was a significant, but unfortunately temporary, victory for gun owners across America. The Obama administration has made it clear that they will pursue an ammunition ban whenever they see an opportunity. Congressman McHenry’s bill will help fight back against President Obama’s unconstitutional attacks on our freedom." – See more at:… Please Mr. Millard, tell us how progressive you are, and if you are taking campaign contributions from PAC’s, including the NRA.
